Welcome to Web 3.0 - the semantic web. Otopy takes the guesswork out of Internet search by automatically converting a keyword query into descriptive terms. Otopy’s unique technology seamlessly derives meaning from the context of words on a web page to generate highly relevant search results and – for advertisers – “bull’s-eye” targeting for ad placement.
Otopy delivers relevant results and related search terms even when the initial query is either too broad or too specific. For example, you might want to research the Beatles. On other search engines that rely on keywords or click stream data to determine the “popularity” of links, you won’t easily find information about each member of the band. A search on the Beatles using Otopy will generate results for each band member (including the original drummer), in addition to the obvious links to pages about the band as a whole. This is because Otopy reads the content of web pages and makes the connection between, for example, Ringo Starr and the Beatles.
Otopy’s technology is also used “in reverse” to power an ad placement engine, automatically finding the most appropriate sites on which to deliver ads that directly complement the site’s content. Research (our own and others’) has shown that the more relevant an ad is to the content of the page on which it sits, the higher likelihood of click-through and the higher quality of leads generated.
